FOLLOW THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD
The drive from Palm Springs to Salvation Mountain is incredible, and well worth getting up for so you can see the sunrise as you drive across this incredible Landscape. About two hours from Palm Springs is Salvation Mountain, located in the lower desert of Southern California in Imperial County.
Salvation Mountain was created by Leonard Knight, it’s his tribute to god. It must be seen to be fully appreciated, its 50 foot height and 150 foot width is made totally of adobe clay and donated paint, with its big red heart and yellow brick road, and reoccurring theme of “Love” it really is a beautiful sight in the middle of the desert!
This colourful world was created by an accidental artist, and has become a great addition to California. We highly recommend a visit!
